Men and Boys the Size of There Toy Trains

At the local train depot is a collection of older gentlemen who are just dedicated to keeping rail roading alive. Once you walk in you immediately revert to your childhood. The place is full of hand made train dioramas. If you closely inspect the trains you will be amazed at the detail. I have been a few times and it is always interesting. If you go at the right time you may hear and feel the fright trains that breeze trough on a regular basis rattling the building and blowing there whistle.

When I was little out in West Texas we would go to the train station to pick up freight or an occasional relative. The steam and noise from the train was just overwhelming joy to me. I was six years old when my Mom and Dad put me on the train to go to Fort Worth to be with my Grandmother. Dad gave the Porter five dollars to keep an eye on me, which he did. At lunch I went down to the dining car and ate with the other passengers. It was one of my big adventures in life and I will always have fond memories. My Great Grandfather was a Conductor for Texas and Pacific Rail Road back in the 1800's. I wish I would have known him but I think I know how he felt
