Aging Beauty

We seem to have a fascination with old signs. Maybe it brings back memories of a better time, more personal and direct without the special effects of today's advertising. I always watch for old signs and remnants of faded paint on buildings. Sadly they are going away.
Here are a few examples that I have. I hope you enjoy them.

Very old and worn Coca Cola sign.

A rusty old Coca Cola sign.

An old painted sign on a building in South Carolina.

Maybe you have some in your area, photograph them before they fade into the past.

Thanks for reading stop by again, be sure and visit my sites.

Hot Rod Dreams

Our fascination runs deep it appears. I am a "car guy" from the generation where cars did not resemble each other, you could tell ay a glance what the year and model was. I love car shows and fortunately there are many around my area. Small an large they abound with great classics. So a few years ago I started shooting photographs while I was visiting. When I put them online I noticed a tremendous jump in views. I guess we all still want that perfect ride,
I am very lucky since I have had my share of very cool cars. I still miss my 57 Chevy.
Here are two shots that have a large number of views.

This beautiful 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 Door in black reaching almost 20,000 views on Flickr.

And this rare classic Henry J in red approaching 6,500 views on Flickr.

I hope you enjoy the shots, you can visit my Flickr pages for a whole lot more.
 Stop by again next week.

Sureal Winter Storm

Icy blast came through here like most of the east coast. No snow but a ton of rain and some ice. The clouds were dramatic and the trees blew a lot. I shot a few cloud pictures and decided to add some drama to them, deep shadows and contrast give the photographs a dark ominous look.

But it is February and it is still cold and not very comfortable. But it beats the last few years of lots of snow. So stop by next week and hopefully the lens will focus on something new.

When in the course of human events

That is how the Declaration of Independence starts. Those of you who slept through history class or blew bubbles should go and read the entire document.
Perhaps you will learn something, as a note take your dictionary with you.
As we sit here and now and wonder how our Country got to this position refreshing your history will give you a clue. Since this document was written many have tried to undermine our Country by force or subterfuge. Crooked lying politicians and greed have damaged us as Americans. Our rights are eroded daily as our burden of taxation increases. People who stand up for God and Country are ridiculed. Our Founding Fathers are weeping as they look on. As American we need to stand together as our Forefathers did. A few photographs to perhaps get you to think.

Thanks for reading this week. As a note all photographs were taken by me and digitally aged.

LuckyShots

This week the weather has been horrid. Lots of rain and fog. Since I like to get out and around to find photo ops, I was getting to feel a bit confined. After a few dozen trips to the windows to check the weather I noticed my Flag was blowing hard and it was raining even harder, I saw this shot. I grabbed the camera and took this picture. You will find it below. I call it "Tears of our Colors".

Thanks for stopping by this week. Check back next week and in the mean time visit my Web sites.
