First launched in 1935 this aircraft was a primary trainer for combat fighter pilots in WW2. It is still flying today in many countries and in the US for civilian use. My first encounter with this aircraft I was in the USAF and the base aero club had one. I decided not to train in flying one an opted for a smaller Stinson. After getting into the AT6 and walking around it I think I was a bit overwhelmed at the size and power of the airplane. This one pictured below is in beautiful condition and still flying. I shot this in North Carolina.
